Mistakes

Judaism did not oppress and murder tens of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza; Israel, on the other hand, most certainly did.

They are not “one in the same”: Criticizing the actions of Israel is not a direct criticism of Judaism; similarly, standing by and supporting Jewish people is not a condonation or absolution of Israel’s actions.

But there’s no denying it is really easy to blur this line sometimes. In my opinion, criticizing Israel is simply the right thing to do, but this fact does not absolve people of all responsibility to choose words with due care and attention, and to challenge personal biases and preconceptions. Equally, people who are consuming content must be willing to put aside their own assumptions about writer intention without constantly reading between the lines looking for reasons to be offended.

Complex issues are only exacerbated by bad human habits we all have.
